Learn French in Biarritz

French & Surf

Biarritz lies on the South West Atlantic coast of France, just a few minutes' drive from the Spanish border. The town has long been known as a very 'chic' resort for the rich, but has more recently also gained popularity for its excellent year-round surfing conditions. This is a wonderful location for anyone wishing to learn French in France, whether you do or do not also wish to combine this with surfing. In addition to French courses of 22 or 30 lessons/week, we also offer specific 'French and Surfing' courses, consisting of a French course in the morning plus 10 afternoon surfing lessons with fully-qualified professional instructors, all equipment provided.

Our school in Biarritz

Our school in Biarritz is open throughout the year. There are 12 air-conditioned classrooms, an Internet café and student common room. Students attending French courses at our school come from all over the world and are mostly aged 18-28 years.

However, our school in Biarritz also organises a 'Summer Course for Young Students' (aged 13-17 years), as well as a 'French A-Level Revision Course' (16-18 years).

For students who require accommodation, our school in Biarritz can arrange half board (two meals/day) accommodation in carefully selected French host families.

French and Surfing

Why not learn how to surf as well as learn French! There is no better location in Europe in which to learn how to surf than in Biarritz, with good surf all year round and beaches which are safe for beginners. This course combines 22 French lessons per week with 10 surfing lessons/week. The surf instructors are all fully-qualified local instructors and all equipment, including wetsuits and surfboards, is provided.

French and Surfing

French A-Level Revision course (16-18 years)

The 1 and 2-week French A-Level Revision course is specifically designed for students preparing for the French A-Level exam. The course runs during half-terms, as well as Easter and summer school holidays. In autumn, winter and spring the course is held at our school in Bordeaux, and in the summer at our school in Biarritz. In addition to 24 French lessons/week, this excellent French A-Level Revision course also includes a leisure activities programme, host family accommodation and transfers from/to Biarritz Airport. Summer Course (14-18 years) Biarritz, Option One

If you’re between 14 and 18 years of age, we have a specialised French course just for you! Choose between 15 or 20 French lessons each week, all with experienced, native teachers. After class, you can choose to learn how to surf with professional lessons! Or, join our school’s packed activities program and take part in a variety of sports, parties, workshops and other activities. Explore nearby towns, cities and sights on organised excursions. Meet young people from all over the world, sharing a residence apartment with three or four other students from the school. Or, totally immerse yourself in the French language and culture by staying with a host family!

Summer Course (14-18 years) Biarritz, Option Two

Our Option Two Biarritz school for Young Students is located just a five-minute walk away from the beach! The school offers surfing lessons or other activities to complement your course of 16 French classes per week. Typical activities at this school include trips to Biarritz’s pristine beaches and lessons in French cookery. Living with one of our school’s carefully chosen host families, you’ll sample French life at first hand and get plenty of language practice!
