Often referred to as the ‘Athens of Latin America’, Bogotà is known as a centre for learning, has many universities and libraries and has been declared the World Book Capital by UNESCO! It is therefore the perfect location in which to learn Spanish!

The capital city of Colombia, Bogotà is located in centre of the country, and therefore makes a fantastic base from which to explore the rest of Colombia.

The city itself has a fantastically rich cultural heritage and is home to many beautiful churches and museums, such as the Gold Museum with its unique collection of pre-Colombian gold work. Bogotà also offers a vibrant nightlife and is considered one of the gastronomic capitals of Latin America!

Our Spanish language school in Bogotà is located in the historic part of the city, ‘La Candelaria’. This area of the city has a wonderful mix of colonial Spanish and Baroque architecture and houses several of the city’s universities, museums and libraries. Our school in Bogotà is housed in an old building which retains many of its original features, such as beautiful carved wooden ceilings and a wide sweeping staircase, as well as a spacious courtyard. The school offers excellent facilities for Spanish language students, including 12 spacious classrooms and a self-study room with computers.

Our Spanish language courses in Bogotà

Our group and private Spanish language courses are suitable for students of all levels, from complete beginner to advanced and can be arranged for any duration, from 1-36 weeks or more! Our school also offers an amazing ‘Spanish and the Amazon’ course, which consists of 20 group Spanish language lessons per week for a minimum of 2 weeks, followed by a 5 day eco-tour in the Amazon rainforest. For those who have an intermediate level of Spanish or higher, our school also offers a ‘Spanish and Volunteer Work’ programme. This consists of 20 group Spanish language lessons per week plus volunteer work, which usually takes place during the afternoons.

Accommodation in Bogotà

Our Spanish language school in Bogotà offers host family accommodation. Linguistically, this is the perfect accommodation option, as you will be living with native Spanish speakers, who will encourage you to speak Spanish with them as much as possible! You can choose from bed and breakfast or half-board accommodation.

Cultural activities

We understand that whilst you are studying Spanish at our school in Bogotà you will want to explore the city and its surroundings, discover the local culture and practice your Spanish outside of the classroom. That’s why our school in Bogotà offers such a varied and extensive cultural activities programme, including guided visits to museums and other local places of interest.

How to get there

Fly into Bogotà airport, from where you can take public transport. Alternatively, we would be happy to arrange an airport transfer for you, if you would prefer. Please note that this service is not included in the course price.
