Sucre

Our Spanish school in Bolivia is located in the historic Spanish colonial city of Sucre, considered to be the most beautiful city in the country. The city is best explored on foot, as it contains some of the best examples of Spanish colonial architecture on the continent, and has UNESCO World Heritage Site status. What's more, Sucre enjoys excellent weather year-round, thanks to its sheltered location in a valley.

Our Spanish school is located in the heart of Sucre, just one block from Plaza 25 de Mayo, the city's lively main square. Our students tell us the Plaza is the place to be in Sucre, as it's busy at any time of day with locals chatting or just enjoying the sun. Our school is located in a beautiful building with colonial-style balconies, interior patio and sun terrace - perfect for relaxing after class! In addition to 7 classrooms, there's a kitchen, student lounge and a cafeteria. Our students are welcome to send and receive e-mail at the school, and there are several Internet cafes nearby, offering full Internet access.

Your Spanish course in Bolivia

We offer a wide range of Spanish courses, including our popular Standard and Super-Intensive courses. With a maximum class size of just 4 students, you'll receive plenty of individual help and attention from our fully qualified and experienced teachers. On the first day of your course, you'll receive a city tour and lots of information about the city and school. For an extra insight into the Bolivian way of life, try one of our more specialist courses such as Spanish & Culture, Language & Activity or Volunteer Work.

Business Spanish Course

This course consists of 20 lessons/week and is suitable for students who want to improve their business Spanish.

Spanish & Culture Course

If you'd like to really immerse yourself in the Bolivian culture, try our Spanish & Culture Course. You'll receive 20 lessons/week. Please contact us for more details.

Language & Activity Course

This course is ideal if you've got a limited amount of time and want to see as much of Sucre and the surrounding area as possible. You'll have 20 Spanish lessons plus 5 private activities, including city tours and guided visits.

Volunteer Work

Many of our students want to stay longer in Sucre after their course, and do so on a volunteer work placement arranged by our school. Our school offers placements in community-based projects lasting between 4 and 12 weeks. Please note that volunteer work must be preceded by a language course lasting a minimum of two weeks.

Cultural Activity Program

Like our other Spanish schools in South America, our school in Sucre offers a comprehensive cultural activities program, to help you get the most from your course. Activities include visits to local areas of interest, dance classes, cooking classes, fiestas, seminars and films. Please note that bus fares and entrance fees are not included.

Accommodation in Bolivia

A student and host family, Sucre

On a Spanish course in Bolivia, you can stay with one of our carefully selected host families, or in a student residence. If you want to improve your Spanish as much as possible during your course, stay with one of our host families, but if you particularly don't want to stay with a host family, then the student residence is an excellent choice. With half board (2 meals/day) you'll find mealtimes are an excellent time to practise the Spanish you've learnt in class.

You should expect to find that living standards in Bolivia are lower than in Europe and North America. However, Bolivians are known for their friendliness and our students tell us what really counts is the warm welcome given by their host families. You'll be given a front door key and will be able to come and go as you please. What's more, your host family will take you to school on the first day of your Spanish course!

You can also choose to stay in a student residence, located just next door to our school. You can choose from a single or twin room, and you'll share a kitchen and bathroom with other students. Rooms with private bathroom are available on request.
