Its famous porticoes (covered walkways) and the red brick towers built by local families have now become internationally recognised symbols of the city. Bologna is also Italy's culinary capital and often ranks among one of the top Italian cities in terms of quality of life. In addition to this, the fact that the city is extremely student-friendly and has a reputation as a centre for learning and for Italian culture makes it a truly inspiring place to learn Italian!

Our Italian language school in Bologna

Located very near to the historical centre of Bologna and on one of the main bus routes, our Italian language school offers excellent facilities for students, including air-conditioned classrooms, a comprehensive library and PC room with Internet access. There is also a private garden, student common areas and a school café!

Our Italian language courses in Bologna

Our school in Bologna offers a variety of Italian language courses including group and private courses, as well as a combined course of group and one-to-one tuition. Also offered are CILS exam preparation courses, Business Italian courses, Italian for Law courses and University preparation courses. If you are interested in combining your Italian language course with an activity then you may like to consider adding some cooking or wine-tasting lessons to your course. Alternatively, you may be interested in one of our 'Italian Plus' courses, which combines Italian language lessons with lessons on culture, painting and drawing or ceramics and pottery. If you would like to discover Italy at the same time as learning Italian, then our 'Italian on the Road' course is perfect for you! You will start with a 1 or 2 week language course in Bologna before spending a week travelling around the main art cities of northern and central Italy, such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Rome and Orvieto!

Accommodation in Bologna

At our school in Bologna, you can choose to stay in shared student house, shared apartment or private apartment accommodation on a self-catering basis. Alternatively, you may like to consider staying with a carefully selected host family, who will welcome you into their home and encourage you to speak Italian with them! This accommodation type can be arranged on a half-board or self-catering basis. We are also able to arrange B&B or hotel accommodation for you if you would prefer.

Cultural activities

Activities such as Italian film nights, guided walking tours of Bologna and its museums and galleries, cooking classes, parties, wine tasting sessions and dinners in typical Bolognese restaurants are arranged regularly by our school. These activities offer you the opportunity to learn about Italian culture, practice your Italian outside of the classroom and socialise with other students! Regular excursions are also arranged to other places of interest such as Mantova, Verona, San Marino, Parma, Florence, Siena and Padua.
