Spanish courses in Buenos Aires – Capital Federal

Argentina’s capital city, Buenos Aires, is a wonderfully exciting location in which to learn Spanish. At one time the city was the seat of the Viceroyalty of the Spanish Empire and so was incredibly important in the history of the continent as a whole, particularly as it was such a key port in terms of trade between Latin America and Europe. This history as a port city also means that Buenos Aires is arguably one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Latin America.

The barrio of Monserrat, where you will find our Spanish school, is one of Buenos Aires’ oldest areas and was actually where the city’s founder, Juan de Garay, first stepped ashore. The heart of this district is Plaza de Mayo, which was not only the setting for the beginnings of the independence movement in Argentina, but is also home to Casa Rosada, the impressive presidential palace.

Just 10 minutes’ walk from here, our school offers first-rate facilities for students, including 19 spacious classrooms, an audio-visual room, student lounge and wireless Internet access throughout. There is even a kitchen which students may use, as well as four lovely terraces, which are great places for catching up with friends in between lessons!

Spanish language courses in Buenos Aires – Capital Federal

Our range of Spanish courses in Buenos Aires means that there will certainly be a course to suit your requirements. If you already speak some Spanish then you will take a level test to make sure that you are placed in the most suitable group for your level (of course, beginners are automatically placed with other beginners). Your teacher will be a native Spanish speaker and will be fully qualified to teach Spanish to international students of all levels.

Our group courses, such as the ‘Intensive’ course of 20 group lessons per week, or the ‘Super-Intensive’ course of 30 group lessons per week, are generally the most popular, as they focus on improving the overall level of the language, emphasising the everyday, practical usage of the language (although, all aspects of the language will be covered).

If you mainly wish to improve your overall level, but also want to focus on something more specific, the ‘Intensive + Private Lessons’ course of 20 group and 5 private lessons per week is a good choice for you.

If you are interested in getting a real insight into the Latin culture, why not take one of our ‘Spanish and Dance’ courses in Buenos Aires. 20 Spanish lessons are combined with 8 tango or salsa lessons per week.

If you would like to take the DELE exam to prove your proficiency in Spanish, our ‘DELE Preparation’ course is the ideal choice. Not only will you improve your level of Spanish, but you will also concentrate on the skills required to pass the exam.

Do you need Spanish for your career? If so, you may be interested in taking a ‘Business Spanish’ course, which concentrates on the language used to conduct business. Alternatively, if you want to gain real experience of using Spanish within the workplace, why not try our ‘Spanish + Work Experience’ programme?

Another great way to gain real experience of using Spanish in everyday, practical situations is the ‘Spanish + Volunteer Work’ programme.

Accommodation in Buenos Aires

Stay with a host family on a bed and breakfast or half board basis and live like a true Porteño! This accommodation option will give you even more exposure to Spanish and is, therefore, the best choice in terms of the linguistic benefit. However, we are aware that staying with a local family is not everyone’s preference and this is why we also offer student residence accommodation on a self-catering basis.

Both types of accommodation are located in different areas of the city, so you should expect to need to use public transport to reach the school.

Cultural activities

When you arrive at the school, our colleagues will explain to you the optional activities that they will be offering during your stay. These activities may incur an additional fee to cover costs, but you can pick and choose what you take part in. Examples of typical activities offered include dance lessons, film evenings, bowling, swimming, visits to traditional milongas, and trips to local places of interest.

How to get there

The airport is located approximately 50 minutes’ drive from the city centre. From here, taxis tend to be relatively inexpensive. Alternatively, we would be pleased to arrange an airport transfer for you (please note that there is an additional charge for this service).
