The obvious location in which to learn Chinese is China, a country that holds some of the world’s most famous treasures, including the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Terracotta Army!
We have schools in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an and Qingdao. On a Chinese course at one of our schools, you’ll be studying Mandarin Chinese, one of the 6 working languages of the United Nations. Mandarin Chinese is common to Chinese speakers right across Asia, from the Republic of China to Taiwan!
You can choose to learn to speak Chinese at our one of our three schools in Beijing, the capital of China or, if you’re looking for ultra-modern China, you might like to consider Shanghai, China’s largest city, extremely modern yet still full of sophistication and history. Alternatively, learn Chinese by beautiful beaches, at our school in Qingdao, China’s leading coastal resort!
With so many options available, you may want some advice on which location to choose. Please do not hesitate to contact us. We know our schools well and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
We offer a wide range of Chinese language courses in China, starting at any time of year. You can choose from our popular Standard, Intensive and One-to-One courses, and special interest courses including Work Experience, Tai Chi and Chinese Painting. To help you learn quickly, we keep our class sizes small, and our teachers are fully qualified and experienced native speakers. If you have any difficulty in choosing the right course for you, please contact us – we’ll be happy to advise you.
Our schools are well-located for exploring all that China has to offer. Our schools in Beijing and Qingdao are ideally situated for visiting the Great Wall during your Chinese course. Or, from our school in Qingdao you can take a weekend trip to Hangzhou, often considered to be China’s most beautiful city.
You can choose from a range of accommodation options in China. If you want to learn to speak Chinese in a short time, we recommend staying in one of our carefully selected Chinese host families. Chinese people are known for being very friendly and hospitable, and this is certainly true of our host families! Alternatively, you can stay in a comfortable student residence or shared apartment. We also offer guest house, hostel and hotel options. Please contact us for further details.
If you want to gain experience of speaking Chinese in a professional environment, then ask about our Chinese and Work Placement Course. We can arrange work placements for you in a variety of industries, from import-export to marketing.
If you want to learn Chinese in China, you’ll need to get a visa. For citizens of most countries, this is a fairly simple process. If your Chinese course is under 90 days, you can apply for a tourist visa (L visa). If you are staying in China for longer than 90 days, you’ll need an F visa. Our schools will be happy to advise you on extending your L visa to an F visa – just make sure that your passport is valid for a further 6 months and that you have more than 2 blank visa pages in your passport.
You can visit the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the UK for the latest visa information.
