Learn Spanish in Costa Rica, a wonderful location with an incredibly wide variety of landscapes, climates, animals and vegetation. The untouched mountain rain forests, palm-fringed Pacific and Caribbean beaches, reefs, volcanoes and jungles make this a paradise for nature lovers, and Costa Rica’s green credentials means that it looks set to stay this way for quite some time to come!
A peaceful and progressive country, Costa Rica is always popular amongst visitors, not only for the spectacular landscapes, but also for the friendly welcome offered by Ticos (Costa Ricans). The atmosphere is generally warm and relaxed, infused with that special energy so prevalent in Latin American countries.
Our schools offer Spanish language courses throughout the year, in Flamingo Beach, Monteverde Mountain Rain Forest, Manuel Antonio, San Joaquin de Flores, San José and Samara Beach. Because we select the schools that we offer extremely carefully, you can be certain that, whichever school you choose, you will receive high-quality tuition and professional student care.
All of these schools offer a total immersion experience, which means that all of the courses are conducted in Spanish from the very beginning. If you choose to take part in the schools’ optional activities programme, then you will also find that these activities are all in Spanish too! You will be encouraged to use Spanish as your common language when interacting with other students and, if you really wish to enhance your experience, you can even choose to stay with a Spanish-speaking host family. All of this will not only help you to progress quickly, but should also improve your confidence in speaking Spanish in everyday, practical situations.
San José, as the capital city, offers plenty to see and do, including a wealth of museums, theatres and beautiful parks. It also serves as a fantastic base from which to explore the rest of the country.
Flamingo Beach is stunning and the perfect choice if you are looking to learn Spanish in a relaxed location, with golden sands and turquoise waters. As host families live in nearby ‘local’ towns, this location offers all the facilities of a tourist destination, with the opportunity to get involved with the local community and experience the ‘real’ Costa Rica.
Also in Guanacaste Province is Samara Beach, where our school is right on the beach, overlooking the Pacific Ocean! This picturesque, laid-back location is the perfect spot to combine your Spanish course with some rest and relaxation.
If you are interested in discovering Costa Rica’s fantastic biodiversity, as well as having an adventure at the same time, then our school in Monteverde is the place for you!
Our school in Manuel Antonio, set in a large National Park, also offers plenty for the adventurous, from spectacular beaches to mountain forests.
Alternatively, if you prefer to study in a small town which will allow you plenty of contact with the locals, then San Joaquin de Flores, close to the city of Heredia, is an excellent choice for you.
