The Dominican Republic is a Spanish speaking island in the Caribbean, with magnificent scenery, wonderful beaches and friendly locals. Due to its sub-tropical location, the Dominican Republic enjoys year-round summer and sunshine. This is an ideal location in which to learn Spanish in Latin America. Our schools in Santo Domingo (the capital) and Sosua (with its incredible beaches) run Spanish language courses throughout the year.

If you are interested in attending a Spanish language course in the Dominican Republic, we offer the possibility for you to either learn Spanish in Santo Domingo, or Sosua, or divide your course between both locations.

We also offer a 'Learning Spanish and Dancing' course, for students interested in Salsa and Merengue, as well as a 2-week 'Travelling Classroom' Spanish Course, for students who wish to learn Spanish as they travel around the Dominican Republic.

Our school in Sosua stands in its own grounds, surrounded by tropical gardens, just 5 minutes' walk from the main beach. There are on-site studios (private toilet/bathroom, use of kitchen) for students who prefer not to live in apartments or hotels, as well as a small cafeteria. The town centre is just a short walk away.

We have two schools in Santo Domingo, one located in the historic town centre and the other opposite the university. Students can stay in carefully selected Dominican host families, in shared apartments or hotels

Salsa Lessons in Santo Domingo
This is a 2-week course, combining 20 Spanish lessons/week with 10 dancing lessons/week (Merengue or Salsa). 4 different Spanish levels are offered and 2 different dance levels. This course is an excellent way to learn Spanish and make friends. It is also a lot of fun! The dance lessons are conducted by professional local dance instructors. The Spanish lessons take place at our school. There is also a well planned program of leisure and night-time activities.

This 2-week course includes 20 Spanish lessons/week, 13 nights of bed and breakfast accommodation in various locations within the Dominican Republic, plus private minibus transport. The course starts in Sosua, moves on to the mountains of Jarabacoa, then on to the capital, Santo Domingo, before finally visiting the magnificent beaches of Las Terrenas. The tour concludes at Sosua. The lessons take place in various settings, including at our schools in Sosua and Santo Domingo. This is a great way to learn Spanish and also explore the Dominican Republic at the same time. What better way to really get to know this beautiful Caribbean island and its people!
