You will not be disappointed with your decision to study English in Dublin, as the people are known for being open, friendly and welcoming and the city is famous for its tourist attractions, nightlife and vibrancy! The centre of Dublin is fairly compact, despite the greater Dublin region being so large, so you can easily discover the city’s main attractions on foot, either after your English classes or at the weekends! Dublin has a wide range of fantastic parks, museums, galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, to suit every age and every possible taste!
The school is located right next to Dublin’s most famous shopping street – the pedestrianised Grafton Street, which runs between St. Stephen’s Green and Trinity College. Along with its surroundings the area has recently been classified as an ‘Architectural Conservation Zone’, rich in historic charm and urban character! The school has 15 classrooms with audiovisual equipment, free WiFi and a large common room. Students also have full access to a large and well-equipped library on the campus, as well as a cafeteria that students like to use in between classes or at lunchtime.
The most popular courses are the Intensive and Super-Intensive courses, of 20 or 25 English classes per week, both of which are available from any Monday of the year. There is a maximum of 14 students per class and students are placed into the correct classes on arrival, according to their level of English. There is also a Business Course offered at our College Park school in Dublin, consisting of the Intensive programme plus an additional 5 lessons per week focussing on English for Business purposes. You will be able to practise many different business skills in these specialised classes.
As in all of our schools, students can opt for a course of Private lessons only, in case they need an individual tailor-made course. Another alternative in Dublin is to take the Intensive course + Private classes for a combination of both group and one-to-one lessons.
Our Dublin College Park school is an authorised Cambridge Examination Centre. The Exam preparation courses are offered for durations of 8, 10 or 12 weeks, depending on which of the exams you wish to take. The FCE Exam Prep (First Certificate Exam) is suitable for students who want to prove a B2 level of language whilst the CPE Exam Prep (Cambridge certificate of Proficiency in English Exam) proves you have achieved an extremely high level in English.
If you have less time available you can choose a 4-week preparation course to take the IELTS Exam. This is a recognised English qualification, which enables students to prove their level of the English language, perhaps for a career, or for their further studies!

Whatever your preferences for a place to stay during your English course, our school in Dublin offers something to suit your needs. There are self-catering, shared apartments for those who wish to live together with other students. These are conveniently located just around 15 minutes on foot from the school. For students who prefer to live with native Irish people and take part in the daily life in Dublin, then we highly recommend accommodation with a host family.
Hosts can be single people, or married couples, with or without children and all host families are carefully chosen by the Accommodations Officer at the school. Many of the host families live in the suburbs of Dublin and so you will get to know a larger area of the city. There are also private studio apartments for a higher standard of accommodation, which are situated around a 30 minute walk from the school.
Our school has a varied and interesting activities programme throughout the year. Regular visits are arranged to historical and cultural sites in and around Dublin, such as to museums and galleries, to the Guinness Storehouse and to the theatre. There are pub nights, cinema evenings and dance nights, including Irish Dance lessons! Many of the activities included in the social programme are free of charge or available for a small extra fee. There are also some excursions to other parts of the region and to other cities in Ireland such as Kilkenny Town and Galway.
The airport is situated around 15 minutes from the centre of Dublin and there is easy access by public transport, for students to make their own way to their accommodation in the city. Our school can arrange an airport transfer on arrival for an additional fee, if you prefer to be met at the airport.
