Learn Portuguese in Faro, Portugal

Beautiful Beaches

With over 200 million people speaking Portuguese in Portugal and Brazil, this is the most widely spoken language after English and Spanish. Taking a Portuguese course in Portugal or Brazil is the best way to learn the language. Our Portuguese courses in Portugal are held in Faro, and in Lisbon. Students learn Portuguese in small groups, with fully-qualified native Portuguese speaking tutors. In Faro, the host families are all located in the town centre, and are often within walking distance of the school. Staying with a Portuguese host family will help you learn Portuguese more quickly, as well as enable you to meet Portuguese people more easily and give you an insight in Portuguese culture and daily life in Portugal.

Our school in Faro

Our beautiful school in Faro is ideally located in the town centre within walking distance of the harbour. The school has 7 well-equipped classrooms, Internet cafe and a sunny patio for students to use. Lessons are given by fully qualified native Portuguese teachers, in groups of a maximum of 8 students. As well as Portuguese language courses, our school in Faro offers a 'Portuguese for Teachers' course.

Our school in Faro not only offers high quality Portuguese courses, but also provides an optional cultural program, consisting of visits, activities and excursions. The activities include beach trips, island visits, meals in traditional restaurants, guided tours and excursions to nearby towns and cities. This cultural program helps students who are learning Portuguese in Faro to practise out of class the Portuguese language that they learn on their Portuguese course, so that they learn as much Portuguese as possible in the time available to them. The activities and excursions also ensure that students not only enjoy their time in Portugal and learn to speak the Portuguese language, but also come to a deeper understanding of the Portuguese people and of the way of life in Portugal.

School patio - Faro

Located in the heart of the Algarve, Faro is an historic fishing port with an old walled town and a very Portuguese feel. Famous for its year round sunny climate, and nearby sandy beaches, Faro also has a fascinating heritage with a strong Moorish and Roman influence. Faro is the perfect base from which to explore the Algarve. Lessons are held in our centrally located school in 'mini groups' of a maximum of 8. Courses are always taught by a fully-qualified native Portuguese teacher. Students can stay with one of the school's carefully selected Portuguese host families who live in the centre in Faro.
