French and Gastronomy Course
Nice
Nice, home to the famous salade niçoise, is one of the great food capitals of France. Just take a walk through the Cours Saleya Market in old Nice and you’ll see why - Provençal fresh produce is among some of the best in the world! Look out for local specialities such as pissaladière (a delicious pie) and farcis niçois (stuffed vegetables).Course

In addition to 4 afternoons' practical cookery lessons, you'll have one afternoon of wine and cheese tasting, plus two afternoons focussing on cooking vocabulary, origins and characteristics of French cuisine, how to read a cookery book, and French cookery expressions. Your course also includes a guided tour of Nice's famous Lycée Hôtelier, plus lunch. Please note that in July & August, this guided tour is replaced by lunch in a top gastronomic restaurant.
Suitability
If you’ve got an intermediate or above level of French and you’re interested in French cuisine and cookery, this course is perfect for you! Don’t worry about any specialist cooking vocabulary or reading recipes in French – all this and more will be covered in your course!
