Spanish and Surfing course, Lanzarote

You can enjoy a Spanish course in Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands , at any time of year! With an average year round temperature of 24 degrees, beautiful beaches and warm, clear water, you can really make the most of life outdoors! The island’s consistent surf and varied trade winds make it an ideal place to learn to surf, windsurf or kitesurf. Lanzarote’s unusual natural beauty and volcanic landscape also make it a particularly rewarding place in which to hike! Many of our students who learn Spanish in Lanzarote do so on one of our special interest courses, combining Spanish with trekking, surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing.

Our students love everything about Lanzarote, from its culture and cuisine, to its waves and beaches. Local traditions are still present in every day life – if you can, try to see some Lucha Canaria during your Spanish course in Lanzarote – a form of wrestling similar to sumo. Or, try the traditional Arrugadas, or ‘wrinkly potatoes’ cooked in a delicious sauce. With a fiesta nearly every month of the year, you’ll find plenty to do and see in during your Spanish course!

Our Spanish school in Lanzarote is located right in the heart of Costa Teguise, a small town famous for its beautiful beaches. Our school has bright, airy classrooms and Internet access.

You’ll find everything you need around the school, including shops, bike hire and a traditional tapas bar.

You can choose from a wide range of quality Spanish courses in Lanzarote including our popular special interest courses. With a maximum class size of just 6 students, you'll receive plenty of individual attention from our fully-qualified and experienced teachers.

Accommodation in Lanzarote

Students outside our school in Lanzarote

We have a range of accommodation options in Lanzarote. Our studio apartments in Costa Teguise are just a few metres from our Windsurfing Centre and have access to a private pool – ideal for students on our Spanish & Windsurfing Course, or for anyone who would like a private apartment with a private pool! Or, if you are travelling with another student, ask about our beach-front studio apartments in Costa Teguise.

If you are interested in our Spanish & Surf or Spanish & Kitesurfing Course, stay in one of our surf apartments in La Santa or Famara, near our Surf Centre. Please note that students staying in our surf apartments will need to hire a car to get to our school in Costa Teguise for their Spanish lessons.

You can also choose to stay in a shared apartment during your Spanish course in Lanzarote. You’ll stay in a single room and share the kitchen, living room and bathroom with fellow students or Spaniards – please indicate your preference when booking.

Cultural Activities

Our school runs a language exchange program, and will be pleased to help you find a language exchange partner, to practise your Spanish with a 'real Spaniard'.

Our school will also be pleased to help you arrange car or bike hire, as well as activities such as windsurfing, scuba diving, surfing, trekking, mountain biking and snorkelling.

Spanish & Windsurfing Course

Spanish & Windsurfing in Lanzarote

Our Spanish & Windsurfing Course is held on Las Cucharas Beach, one of best windsurfing spots in Europe and home to world trial circuits. On this one or two week course, you'll receive 10 Spanish lessons/week, a windsurfing course for beginners and 6 or 10 hours windsurfing practice. All equipment is included in the price of your course.

Spanish & Surfing in Lanzarote

Waiting for the next wave.

Our Spanish & Surfing Course is suitable for beginners and improvers, and takes place at Famara (5km sand beach) or La Santa Beach (one of the best Reef Breaks in Europe with Hawaiian-style waves). Our fully qualified instructors teach beginner to advanced surfing fundamentals, including water safety, surfing techniques and surf etiquette. On this one or two week course, you'll receive 10 Spanish lessons/week plus 5 or 10 days surfing. You'll surf during the day, and learn Spanish in the evening at our school in Costa Teguise. Please note that students on our Spanish and Surfing Course will need to hire a car to travel between Famara/La Santa and Costa Teguise.

Spanish & Kitesurfing

Lanzarote is one of the safest and best places in Europe to learn to kitesurf, and our fully qualified instructors teach to International Kiteboarding Organisation (IKO) standards. On this one week course, you'll have 10 Spanish lessons and 5 days kitesurfing. Please note you'll need to hire a car to get to our school in Costa Teguise.

Spanish & Hiking

Spanish & Hiking Course
in Lanzarote

Lanzarote's extraordinary volcanic landscape makes for varied and interesting hiking. Our experienced guide will take you along the island's beautiful lava paths on this one week course. You'll receive 10 Spanish lessons, and 4 treks including a coast to coast trek through the valley of a thousand palms, and a trek through the fire mountains of Timanfaya National Park! Don't forget to bring good walking shoes and suncream! Please note you'll need to hire a car to get to our school in Costa Teguise.
