Learn French in Lyon, France
Lyon enjoys a magnificent location, at the convergence of the Rhône and Saône rivers, close to the French Alps. It is a city of sophistication, history and culture that offers something for everyone! Lyon is particularly renowned for its gourmet food. Why not try the local speciality of ‘andouilettes’ (pork sausages)? Or take a walk through the ‘fraboules’, tunnels used by the French resistance during World War Two. In the summer months, Lyon even has a beach! Sand is deposited on the banks of the Rhône, creating the perfect place for relaxing in the sun. If you take a French course in Lyon during December, you might witness the Festival of Lights. Locals place candles in their windows and enjoy light shows and parties, all in homage to the Virgin Mary, whom locals believe saved the city from a plague during the Middle Ages. Our French courses in LyonNo matter which of our French courses you choose, you will be taught by highly-qualified, native French teachers, with lots of experience in teaching French as a foreign language. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of only 12 students, with an average of eight to 10 students, so you will benefit from lots of individual time with our expert teachers. If you need to make even more rapid progress with your language skills, our school can arrange some Private Lessons for you. Every course is available at a variety of levels, from beginner to advanced, apart from our DELF Preparation course, which requires you to have at least an intermediate level of French.

Want to really get to know the French language, culture and people? Then stay with a host family! Our school carefully picks local families, who will welcome you into their home, talk to you in French and provide you with breakfast, or breakfast and lunch. Some families live just five minutes away from the school, and no families are further than 30 minutes away. Both single and double rooms are available. Or you might prefer to share our school’s loft-style apartment, not far from the beautiful Parc de la Tête, with other language students. The open-plan apartment has four double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious living room, well-equipped kitchen and washing machine. Cultural Activities
Our Lyon school encourages you to use the French you have learnt in class at every opportunity. To this end, the school organizes a program of sporting activities, cultural visits and full-day trips. You can communicate in French with local people, as well as with your fellow students, whilst you enjoy yourself and experience France! Some activities are included in the price of your French course in Lyon, and others are optional extras. How to get to LyonTransfers are not included in the price of the course, though our school can arrange to collect you from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, for an additional fee.
