With five different universities located in a single city, Milan is a lively, modern and young place to live and arguably offers some of the best facilities and nightlife for any student wishing to study Italian! Milan is also at the centre of business and industry, being financially the most important Italian city.
Milan is a true paradise for shopping, nightlife, football for serious business people and for fashion designers …and yet, at the same time, it is it one of the oldest cities in Europe, with over 26 centuries of history and heritage! The city is famous for the one of the biggest and most impressive Gothic cathedrals in the world, the Duomo and also for La Scala – one of the best opera houses of the world.
If you take time after your Italian classes to stroll through some of the lesser known areas of the city, such as the chic Brera district or the lively University area, then you will discover a diverse, historic and vibrant city, with plenty of hidden gems! Milan is home to forward-thinking, modern people who lead busy lives, but there is always time to relax and to soak up the street life in one of the city’s many cafes, restaurants and bars.
The language school was founded in 1990 and is centrally located in a beautiful art nouveau building. The school is easy accessible from all areas of the city and close to the underground train station “Lima”.
The school has a terrace and a garden, as well as cafeteria. There is air conditioning and heating and free wireless internet access. All of the classrooms have natural light.
The school employs fully-qualified, native teachers with years of experience and with the aim to ensure that our students learn as much Italian as possible during their course in Milan. The class sizes are small (maximum 12 students), so students receive a lot of individual attention. There are several different course options, to cater for different preferences and the courses start on every Monday in the year, from 2 weeks and above in duration.
Aside from the most popular general Intensive and Super-Intensive Italian courses, of 20 or 30 lessons per week, students can choose an Intensive course plus 2 one-to-one lessons each day, or a course of one-to-one Italian lessons only, where you can study and focus on particular aspects of the Italian language for your career or for your further studies.
As you may expect, many students travel to Milan for the love of fashion and our school also offers a special Language and Fashion Design course with this in mind! This is a 4-week course for students who already have some Italian language knowledge. The course consists of 4 general Italian group classes per day, plus 2 classes a day dedicated to fashion design. An elementary level of Italian is needed for this course and there are specific start dates each year.
Our school offers a wide range of accommodation in Milan for different budgets and preferences. In order to really immerse yourself in the language, stay with a carefully-selected Italian host family and you will really gain insight into the daily life in Milan. This option also gives students the opportunity to practise the Italian they have learnt in class.
Alternatively, choose to stay in a self-catering shared apartment together with other international students, or in a student residence. Our school offers students the choice between a standard residence, with private bathrooms, air conditioning, heating and WiFi access, or a room in a slightly more luxurious residence building, with all of the above as well as free access to a fitness studio and a buffet style restaurant onsite. Both of these residence buildings are located around 20 minutes from the school by public transport.
There is an extensive cultural activities program on offer at our school in Milan and you will always have the chance to further your local knowledge, discover new parts of the city and improve your Italian at the same time! There are film evenings, musical evenings, dinners and aperitivos in local cafes and bars, to help students get to know each other better.
The staff at the school will also advise you with regards to all the best attractions and places of interest in the city and there are regular lectures on offer, covering topics in Italian life and culture. At the weekends the school organises trips to other cities in Italy and to the countryside. The full social programme will be available on the first day of your course, on your arrival at the school.
