Learn Italian in Taormina, Sicily, one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean! Taormina is a favourite summer destination with the Italians themselves, and once you go to Taormina, you'll want to return again and again!

Walk down any of Taormina's narrow streets, and chances are you'll find a quiet beach and warm, clear water to bathe in. Our school in Taormina is quite unlike any other - from the views of Mount Etna from the school terrace, to the range of 'plus' courses, however long you stay it won't seem long enough!

Don't forget, you can combine your Italian course in Sicily with scuba diving, cookery, hiking and much, much more!

Our Italian school in Taormina is located in a beautiful 19th century building, facing the bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. You'll find the school right below the famous Greek Theatre and next to Taormina's beautiful public gardens. Our school is just five minutes from the town centre, and has 8 air-conditioned classrooms, plus free Internet access. What's more, the school's roof-top terrace is a real favourite with our students - an ideal place to eat your lunch whilst enjoying the amazing views of Mount Etna!

Our 'Italian Plus' courses in Taormina, Sicily mean it's easier than ever to combine your Italian course with an activity! To make as much progress as possible during your Italian course in Taormina, stay with one of our carefully-selected host families. Most of our host families live within 15 minutes' walk of our school and you can choose from bed and breakfast, half board (2 meals/day) or full board (3 meals/day). You can also chose to share with other students from the school in a shared apartment, or stay in a private studio apartment or guest house.

Cultural Activities

Our school in Taormina offers an extensive cultural activities program of 30 hours free activities/month, including Italian film evenings, theatre plays and seminars on culture and history. Optional extras include guided weekend excursions.

Italian Cookery Course

Sicilian cuisine is amongst the most varied in the world, with Arabic, French and Spanish influences. This Italian Cookery Course is suitable for cookery enthusiasts or professionals. You'll observe the work of chef in a top-class restaurant for 3 days/week. Each observation session lasts 3 ½ hours.

Italian Home Cookery Course

Learn how to prepare a full three course meal with a real Sicilian 'mamma'. This course takes place on three days/week for 3½ hours per day. What's more, the course includes dinner with 'mamma' and family in her home - an ideal opportunity to practise the Italian you've learnt in class!

Italian Literature/History/Art History Course

Are you interested in Italian Literature, History or Art? Then try this Italian 'plus' course! You'll have 10 lessons/week on Italian literature, Italian history or sculpture, painting and architecture. The choice is yours!

Sicilian Wine, Oil & Cheese

Learn about Sicily's extraordinary range of produce on this Sicilian Wine, Oil and Cheese Course. This course includes tasting sessions.

Wine Tasting for Beginners

Learn how recognise quality wines on this Italian Wine Tasting Course. This 2-week course takes place on 6 days and each session lasts 1 ½ hours. Please note that an elementary knowledge of Italian is required.

Scuba Diving Course

If you've never dived before, then this is the course for you! Sicily has some of the clearest waters in the Mediterranean! This 2-week course comprises 5 theory lessons and 5 dives.

PADI Diving Certificate Course

This 2-week course is suitable for students who want to qualify for the PADI International Diving Licence, and takes place 2 afternoons per week. An elementary knowledge of Italian is required.

Hiking & Trekking Course

Wild flowers, protected species and citrus gardens.Sicily is the ideal location for hiking and trekking! This course comprises 2 half day and 1 full day trek per week, led by a professional eco-guide. Don't forget your hiking boots, sun cream and camera!

Mountain Biking Course

Combine your Italian course with mountain biking in Sicily's beautiful national parks! This course comprises two half-day and one full-day bike tour per week.

CELI Italian Exam Preparation Course

Prepare for the CELI exam on this course which comprises 20 group lessons and 5 private lessons/week. This course includes the CELI exam fee.
