Learn Italian in Salerno (Amalfi Coast)

Typical village on Amalfi Coast
Typical village on Amalfi Coast

If you want to learn Italian in a location where the old traditions of Italian hospitality still live on, then learn Italian in Salerno! Salerno is typically Italian in every way, and is well-loved by our students for the friendliness of the people and the traditional, stress-free way of life. Salerno is right on the famous Amalfi Coast, known for its clean, emerald green waters, hidden bays and spotless beaches. The city is ideally located for exploring the Amalfi Coast, and many of our students do so after morning classes, catching a boat from Salerno's harbour to the beautiful towns and beaches of Capri, Ravello and Positano. Walking in the pedestrianised medieval city centre or along the city's seafront promenade is a pleasure, especially in late evening when the streets are bustling with locals. With good weather year round, you can enjoy life outdoors, joining the school excursions to Pompeii, Herculaneum and other Greek and Roman sites, exploring the multitude of beaches and picturesque villages along the coast, or taking a day out to visit Naples.

Our Italian & Cookery course is very popular, particularly in the summer months when the markets of the Amalfi Coast are full of colour and tempting produce! As a student on our course, you’ll learn how to cook local Italian dishes with two expert chefs as your teachers. You’ll have two cookery lessons, twice a week. This is a practical cookery course, where you get to taste what you’ve cooked!

Salerno is known for its fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese – buffalos have been bred for centuries in the area around Salerno, and our students assure us that the mozzarella is quite unlike any they’ve tasted before! If you decide to take an Italian course in Salerno , don’t forget to try homemade limoncello, made from the strongly scented lemons of the Amalfi Coast – delicious as a refreshing drink or poured over ice cream! read more.
