Paris is one of the most visited cities on Earth, thanks to its stunning architecture, fascinating history and rich culture! It is a must-see for any Francophile and an excellent location for your French language course, as to experience Paris is to experience the history and culture of the French nation. Despite being the capital city of France, Paris is surprisingly navigable and many of the most famous sites and monuments are within easy walking distance of one another.
Our school is located in the heart of France, just 200 metres away from Notre Dame Cathedral and the Ile de la Cité! From the imposing Notre Dame, a short walk over to the Rive Gauche will take you to the Panthéon, where you can pay your respects to some of France’s most important figures, including Rousseau, Voltaire and even Marie Curie. Make your way back over to the Rive Droite, where you will find some of the world’s most celebrated masterpieces housed at the Musée de Louvre. A stroll through the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries will take you to Place de la Concorde and the Obelisk of Luxor. Across the square starts the Champs Elysées, a paradise for shopping, guarded over by the magnificent Arc de Triomphe at the far end.
The school itself is in a traditional townhouse with a view of the Cathedral, and right next to a Parisian park. Facilities include 7 bright and spacious classrooms, student lounge, drinks and snacks vending machine, computers and Wi-Fi. Our school has a young and vibrant atmosphere. We accept students from 17 years old.
As with all of our French courses, lessons here will be taught in French from the outset, to provide you with the full immersion experience and ensure that you make as much progress as possible during the time you have available.
The ‘Intensive’ course of 20 group lessons per week at our school in Paris tends to be the most popular, although we do also offer a ‘Super-Intensive’ course of 26 lessons per week if you are looking to make as much improvement as possible during the time that you have available. Our Intensive course takes places either in the morning or the afternoon, depending on the exact level you are assigned.
Both our ‘Intensive’ and ‘Super-intensive’ courses can be taken on either a short or long term basis. The long term course is excellent value, especially if you are looking for a fully immersive French programme in Paris for 12 weeks or more!
If you prefer a more personalised learning experience, or have specific aspects of the language that you would like to cover, our school also offers private tuition (20 lessons/week).
Our Notre Dame school in Paris offers a range of different accommodation, from host families to residence halls, hotels, hostels and aparthotels.
Staying with a host family would give you the greatest exposure to French and would encourage you to practice what you have learnt in class with native speakers. This will also give you the opportunity to experience life as a Parisian, as well as discovering French customs and cuisine, which is a unique experience! The host families are carefully selected by the school and generally live within a maximum of 35 minutes from the school by public transport. You can choose between a double or single room, and decide whether to stay on a bed and breakfast, half board or room only basis.
If you’d like greater independence and to share your experience with other people from all over the world, the school can arrange accommodation in one of several different residences in various locations around the city. Or if you’d like a cheaper alternative, the school also offers accommodation in hostels.
Students looking for more privacy can choose an aparthotel (fully-equipped studios for 1 or 2 people) or a hotel (2, 3 or 4 stars). Our school has connections with various different aparthotels and hotels around the city, which offer different amenities to suit different needs. Please contact us for further information about these different accommodation options.
Our school offers a fantastic activities programme which will really help you to discover all that Paris has to offer! The school arranges a regular activity programme with guided visits to places of interest within Paris, accompanied by tutors – to the Tour Eiffel, Montmartre, Montparnasse, Jardin du Luxembourg, the Latin Quarter and many more. There are also visits to the museums, opera, markets and parks, French films, as well as full day or weekend excursions to places such as Champagne, Normandy, the Loire and Belgium. You can also book extra activities through the school such as: cooking lessons, wine tasting, tour of Parisian perfumeries, fashion tour and fitness classes.
The activities program is not only extremely interesting and enjoyable, but also helps students practise out of class the French that they learn on their French language program. On arrival at the school our colleagues will let you know what will be offered during your stay and what additional costs (if any) will apply. As one of our students, you’ll benefit from special discounts and reduced tickets. You can then choose what you would like to take part in! Please note that the school may require a minimum number of participants in order to run the activities.
Well served by two international airports (Charles de Gaulle and Orly), as well as the Eurostar service from London and train services from many other European destinations, Paris is incredibly easy to reach. Once you arrive in Paris, you can take public transport to your accommodation. The public transport system in Paris is very efficient and easy to navigate. However, if you prefer, we can also arrange a transfer for you from any of the Paris airports or train stations (please note that this will incur an additional fee).
