Salamanca

Salamanca is an ancient and very beautiful city. It is home to one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe, whose beautiful stone-built faculty buildings share the city centre with palaces, convents, noblemen's houses and the most impressive 'Plaza Mayor' (main square) in the whole of Spain. This is an ideal location in which to study Spanish, because the Spanish spoken in Salamanca is pure 'Castellano' with no regional accents or dialects. As Salamanca is off the normal 'tourist route', it is virtually unspoilt by modern development.

School Reception

Our main school (Option 1) is in the centre of Salamanca, just a short walk from the 'Plaza Mayor'. There are 18 air-conditioned classrooms, Internet café, library, student common room and a large patio. For students wishing to combine their courses with Granada and/or Seville, we have another first-rate school in Salamanca (Option 2), also located in the centre of the city, with 26 air conditioned classrooms, Internet café, library and roof-top sun terrace/coffee rooms.

Cultural program

School Patio

In addition to the Spanish language courses, our schools in Salamanca offer an extensive optional Spanish cultural programme. This programme consists of free seminars in the school, as well as guided tours of Salamanca, regular evenings out with students and teachers, Spanish film evenings and full day excursions.

The programme is optional and many of the activities are free of charge, so most events are very well attended. The object of this cultural programme is for students to practise out of class the Spanish language that they learn on their Spanish course at our school. This enables students to learn as much Spanish as possible during their time in Spain and also helps them enjoy their time here. The Spanish courses at our schools are offered throughout the year and at all levels. Students may attend a course of just one week, or a long-term Spanish course of up to 40 weeks.

Salamanca Summer School for Young Students
(14-16 years)

Salamanca Summer School On this excellent summer school course, students receive 20 Spanish lessons/week, full board Spanish host families or in our residence, return airport transfer (from Madrid), full-day excursion each Saturday, plus one activity/visit/sport each afternoon Monday-Friday (open-air swimming pool trip, cycling excursion, Salamanca guided tour, sports, games, etc).
