Our school is located in a quiet, residential suburb of San José, only a 10 minute bus ride away from the city centre. On-site in the modern school building are 17 well-equipped classrooms and a computer room. There’s an extremely warm and friendly atmosphere at the school, with tutors and school staff doing everything possible to ensure that you enjoy your time in Costa Rica!

Your Spanish course in San José, Costa Rica

Our school will provide you with expert tuition in small classes, with students from all over the world. On average, there are just three students in each class, with a maximum limit of eight students per class. So you’ll benefit from lots of individual attention from our school’s experienced, native teachers, helping you to quickly improve your Spanish!

The popular Mini-Group course gives you 20 Spanish lessons each week. The lessons take place from 8am to 12pm, or from 1pm to 5pm. Either way you’ll have plenty of time to see the wonderful country around you and to put your language skills into practice! A course of Private Lessons also consists of 20 Spanish lessons per week. Our school’s Combined Course offers you the best of both options, with 20 group lessons and 10 Private Lessons every week.

Really get to know the friendly Costa Rican people by doing some Volunteer Work! Our San José school can organise placements in education, care work and conservation, amongst other areas. Or undertake a Work Experience placement, choosing from a wide variety of sectors. The school also offers various specialist courses, which are listed below.

Cultural activities

To help you really enjoy yourself as you learn Spanish in San José, our school organises a packed cultural programme. There are rain forest canopy tours, trips to beaches, volcanoes and other beautiful cities, or you could go white water rafting! Costa Rican cookery classes, Salsa and Merengue lessons, and talks on Cost Rica’s history and culture all give you a better understanding of this wonderful country. Such activities also give you the chance to get to know your classmates, and practice your Spanish with them!

Costa Rican host family

Experience Costa Rican hospitality and way of life, staying with a friendly local family! You’ll also experience delicious Costa Rican breakfasts and dinners with your family. All host families are carefully selected by school accommodation officers, and all live within walking distance of the school.

Or choose to live in one of our school’s well-equipped apartments, just a short walk away from the school. The apartments have kitchens, cable TV and computers with Internet access. Share an apartment with one or two of your fellow students, or have the whole apartment to yourself.
