The peninsula on which Sorrento is located is surrounded by beaches and is also an excellent base from which to explore the beautiful nearby islands of Amalfi and Capri, as well as Pompeii, Naples and Positano. Sorrento is a beautiful, safe and very welcoming town, a place where you can study Italian and also enjoy the very best aspects of the Italian way of life - good food, good weather, beautiful scenery and friendly locals.

Accommodation in Sorrento

Students can choose to stay in one of our carefully selected Italian host families, or else in a self-catering apartment shared with other students from our school. Much of the accommodation is within walking distance of the school. If the main aim of your visit to Italy is to study Italian and learn as much Italian as is possible in the time available to you, we would recommend host family accommodation, as naturally you will then be speaking Italian and listening to Italian throughout your stay.

Work Placement

For students who are interested in work placement in Italy, our school in Sorrento arranges work experience in local companies in such fields as sales, marketing, hotel and catering, public relations. Students must attend one of our 4-week Italian courses before starting their period of work placement and should have at least an intermediate level of Italian. The work placement normally lasts at least one month. If you are interested in attending one of our Italian courses plus work placement, please send a C.V. with details of your qualifications, level of Italian and information regarding any previous employment.
