Take a Chinese course in Xi’an, home to the famous Terracotta Army! China’s first emperor made Xi’an the first capital of China, as well as his final resting place, with over 8,000 terracotta warriors made to guard him in the afterlife. This was also the beginning of the Silk Road trading route, where ancient Eastern and Western cultures met.
Our school offers a fantastic Chinese on the Silk Road course, so you can follow in the footsteps of intrepid explorers and admire China’s finest sights!
One of the most impressive sights in Xi’an is the city wall, which you can walk or cycle along. Between the wall and its moat you’ll find relaxing parklands where local musicians play their instruments. The city itself has a fascinating character, blending Chinese, Muslim and Western influences and architecture. Discover all this and more with a Chinese course in Xi’an!
Our Chinese language school lies in the south of the city, within easy reach of Xi’an’s main attractions. Inside the school are 16 comfortable classrooms; a computer room with Internet access; a library; student common room; and kitchen. The roof terrace and gardens are both ideal places to relax after your Chinese lessons.
A wide range of Chinese courses are available at our school, including group-based programs, individual tuition and combinations of both formats. Group courses, such as the Standard and Intensive programs, give you the chance to meet students from all over the world! Private Chinese Lessons, on the other hand, can be completely customised to suit your own requirements, thereby helping you to make extraordinary progress. Our school’s Combined course comprises 20 group classes and five individual classes each week, giving you the benefits of both approaches.
If you want to delve deeper into Chinese culture, you may want to consider one of our school’s ‘special interest’ options. You can supplement your language sessions with classes in Kung Fu, Chinese calligraphy, Tai Chi, Chinese painting, Chinese medicine or Chinese cookery.
Many students choose to take Chinese lessons as they spend four weeks journeying across the Silk Road. The Chinese on the Silk Road course leaves from Xi’an, visiting the Yellow River; the exquisite Mogao Caves; the Great Wall of China; and other must-see destinations en-route to Beijing.
Completely immerse yourself in the Chinese language and way of life – live with a host family in Xi’an! Staying with one of our school’s friendly, Chinese-speaking families, you’ll have the chance to practice your Chinese all the time, allowing you to make rapid progress.
If you’d prefer to have a little more independence, our school also organises accommodation in studio and shared apartments. Our school carefully selects and regularly checks all accommodation, ensuring it is up to a good standard.
Extra-curricular activities are a great way to meet other students and enjoy your spare time. Typical activities include city tours, museum visits, Chinese theatre evenings, cookery classes and trips to see the Terracotta Army.
Our school offers one-way and two-way transfers from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, or from one of its train stations. This service is not, however, included with the cost of your Chinese course in Xi’an.
