Cuernavaca, sometimes called the ‘City of Eternal Spring’ due to its warm climate, is a truly beautiful city, where colourful plant life and architecture mirror the vibrant culture. Study on our Spanish course for 13-17 year-olds in Cuernavaca, and you’ll be surrounded with history! The city’s cathedral and the ‘Palacio de Hernan Cortes’ were both constructed in the 16th century, and there are mysterious ruined cities nearby that date back more than two thousand years! If you want to sample the hustle and bustle of Mexico City, the capital is only 50 miles away!

Relaxing at breaktime

We have a mini-campus right in the centre of Cuernavaca, with inviting tropical gardens and swimming pools to cool down by. Attractive school buildings, made in sympathy with the local style, house an Internet café, cafeteria, extensive library, bookshop and computer labs full of computers. You have everything you need on-site, in a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere.

Cultural program

Trip to nearby waterpark

Once your Spanish lessons have finished for the day, you can take part in our school’s cultural program, which runs every afternoon. On offer are Mexican cooking lessons, football, volleyball, tennis, a variety of dance classes, ranging from Salsa to Hip-Hop, martial arts and much more! Every week, a different restaurant hosts ‘Café Social’, which gives you the chance to practice your Spanish with teachers and fellow language students whilst you enjoy Mexican or international cuisine. Mexican students of a similar age to you will also take part in some activities, so you really will be using your language skills all the time! For a small extra cost, you can join our school’s weekly excursion, to a nearby city, town or site of interest, which will show you some more of Mexico! The whole program is supervised by counsellors from the school.

The course

This Spanish course for 13-17 year-olds gives you 30 Spanish lessons each week, all in classes of only five students and all with native, Spanish speaking teachers. With such intensive and personal attention from teachers, you’ll make rapid progress with your Spanish. Once you’ve finished your course, you’ll have a graduation ceremony, receive a diploma and have a ‘fiesta’ to celebrate!

Accommodation

Stay with a local host family for a genuine experience of Mexican life and local cuisine! Your family will give you three meals a day and the chance to practice your Spanish all the time. Our school employs a strict set of criteria when choosing host families. The few host families not located within walking distance of the school, will transport you to and from our school everyday.
