Liverpool is a world-class destination, immersed in heritage and famous for The Beatles and for its historic role in the growth of the British Empire, as a major trading centre and port! Today Liverpool is also a city of friendly and welcoming people, of unique attractions, of world class sport and exciting events.
Young Students will discover a friendly, exciting and safe environment and a place where they can spend their holidays, make international friends, practise speaking English and experience true English life and culture first-hand. The school is located right in the heart of the city centre, next to the internationally famous shopping centre “Liverpool One” and close to all of the city’s sights. The school building is attractive and modern, offering a wonderful and secure learning environment, with top-rate facilities and spacious classrooms.
Our summer course in Liverpool is available each year, in July and August, to students aged 12 -17 years who already have an elementary knowledge of the English language (one or two years learning in school). We offer general English language classes, combined with an exciting and varied programme of cultural activities, social events, visits, sports and games, all fully supervised by a team of young, caring, professional teachers and coordinators. The programme is carefully designed with students of this age group in mind and the lessons are dynamic, fun and interesting, with an average of just 8-12 students per class and a maximum of 15.
The residence accommodation is situated just a few minutes’ walk from the school building and provides shared student rooms, with en-suite facilities and 3 meals every day. There is a laundry service, internet access and all bed-linen and towels are provided. Students who choose accommodation in the residence will also receive 5 evening activities each week, as part of their social and cultural programme.
Alternatively, our young students can choose to stay with an English host family, on a full-board basis. This option gives you the chance to practise your English with native people and provides a comfortable and welcoming home-away-from-home. You will receive a local bus pass for the journey, as the host families live around 20 minutes from the school by bus, on average (with a maximum journey time of 45 minutes). Your host family will ensure that you know the easiest and best way to reach the school. There are 2 organised evening activities a week, as part of the programme, for all students who are staying with a host family and otherwise they will benefit from time together with their hosts.
The summer course activities programme in Liverpool is packed with exciting things to do and see! All students have the chance to get to know each other better and to practise the English skills that they have learned in class, whilst thoroughly enjoying themselves at the same time! The activities are fully supervised and include such things as art and music workshops, cultural visits, film screenings, games in the park, visit to the planetarium and to the world museum, dance workshops, sports, backstage theatre tours and talent contests. There are 2 full-day excursions each week to local towns or places of interest around Liverpool, such as to the Roman city of Chester or to the beautiful Lake District.
There are members of staff available full time to support and to supervise the students, so that their security is guaranteed and they are looked after at all times.
An airport transfer service is not included in the cost of the programme, but this can be booked from/to Liverpool or Manchester airport for an additional fee.
