From our modern school building, students can walk to the beach in just 10 minutes! Or they can head into the city centre on the free shuttle bus service. Staff and teachers at our school are very friendly and welcoming, helping students to settle in quickly.

The school has 10 indoor classrooms and two outdoor classrooms, perfect in Nice’s summer sun. There is a comfortable on-site residence at the school, so students can enjoy the convenience of living right next to their classroom! Students who stay in the on-site residence will have all of their meals in the school’s restaurant, and can take advantage of the residence’s games room, sports facilities and TV room.

Courses

Students taking a French course for young students in Nice with us can choose between two courses, both of which are available at a range of levels. Our Standard Course gives students 20 French lessons each week, finishing at 12 noon, leaving the afternoons free for organized trips, sports and activities.

The Intensive Course consists of the standard 20 lessons, plus 10 extra French lessons each week. In those extra 10 lessons, there is a maximum of just 10 students. This means that teachers can keep a closer eye on an individual student’s progress, and help them to quickly improve their understanding of the language.

No matter which course students opt for, they will be taught by fully qualified and experienced native French teachers. Our teachers are highly-skilled and have many years of experience in teaching young people.

Accommodation

Students have the option of staying with a French host family or in the student residence at our school. All meals are included on both options.

The Residence

Host families are thoroughly vetted by our school, ensuring that all host family accommodation is up to standard, helping students feel at home and giving them plenty of opportunity to practice their French language skills. In host family accommodation, students enjoy breakfast and dinner with their French family, eating lunch at the school and taking packed lunches with them on excursions.

If students live in our on-site residence, they have their own room, with wash basin and shower. The residence has excellent facilities, including a TV and video room, common room, phone booths and a sports area, where they can play basketball, volleyball or the local favourite, Pétanque. The common room, open from 5pm to 11pm, has video games machines, table football and table tennis tables, and a snack bar.

Our Option Two school in Nice also has its own on-site residence

Activities

Activities are an integral part of our French language courses. Our Option One school organizes a packed itinerary of half-day trips, full-day excursions and a variety of other activities. The package is designed to give students opportunity to practice the French they have learnt, give them some insight into the local culture and help them to enjoy themselves as well!

In Nice, students visit the flower market, the Palais Lascaris and various museums, including the museum of Modern Art. They go to the principality of Monaco, where they see the Sea World Museum and Palace Plazza. Other half-day excursions include trips to the traditional villages of Grasse, St. Paul de Vence and Eze. A visit to the beautiful town of Antibes, where students will see the Picasso Museum, is also included.

On Saturdays, students have full-day excursions. They visit the glamorous resort of St-Tropez and the picturesque Lérins Islands, just off the coast of Cannes.

To keep students entertained on afternoons when trips are not planned, the school organises a wide variety of cultural activities. An introduction to martial arts, dance and theatre workshops, beach volleyball, basketball and football are all on offer! The school also organises nightly activities in the centre of Nice.

Students can take part in other activities, arranged by the school, for small extra charges. They can go bowling, kayaking, sailing, play mini-golf, and enjoy evenings at the cinema and the school’s own private disco. Please contact us for further details

At the student residence, there is a school representative available 24 hours a day. Students under the age of 16 cannot go out unsupervised at night. With parental consent, students over the age of 16 can stay out until 00:30 at weekends.

How to get to Nice

Students should fly to Nice Airport or get to Nice by train, from where they have a free transfer to their accommodation. School representatives will be waiting for those students staying at the residence, and host families pick up students who have chosen to live with a French family. Arrivals are always on Sundays and students depart on Saturdays.
